10th October is observed to be Mental Health Awareness Day, to raise awareness among the people all around the World. Its main aim is to encourage people to engage in conversations and be supportive about Mental Health because, World will be a better place with support in it.
People still suffer mental illness in silence because of the stigma about it. Not only young but also old people tend to suffer due to increasing stress. Breaking the stigma, empowering and nurturing everyone around us can help a lot of people around to speak up about their issues rather than suffering silently.
What Exactly is Mental Health?
Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how an individual thinks, feels and acts. It also helps to determine how they handle stress and make choices. Mental well-being is integral part of every stage of life.
Mental Health is not a sign of weakness, it’s important to stay in best state of health not only physically but also mentally. With modern world expanding online, it adds to more and more stress. That is why it is necessary to stay attentive and create awareness as much as possible.
Mental Health issues can lead to commonly experienced symptoms like lack of sleep, poor concentration, stress, fear, to clinically recognized issues like depression, panic attacks, anxiety being some of them.
